Chris Brown “Freaking Out” Over Rihanna Pregnancy Rumors Is Made-Up Story

A story about Chris Brown “freaking out” over pregnancy rumors about Rihanna was made-up. In fact, a similar report was seemingly fabricated earlier this year, too. Gossip Cop can bust this latest tall tale and explain what’s going on.

In late January, HollywoodLife claimed to know Brown was “hurt over Rihanna pregnancy rumors,” which cropped up after she performed at the Grammy Awards. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, the singer was not actually pregnant, and we learned his purported reaction to the speculation was concocted by the site. Now less than two months later, a new pregnancy rumor has emerged and again the blog is seemingly pretending to know how Brown feels about it.

In the wake of the disreputable MediaTakeOut alleging (as it has incorrectly many times before) that Rihanna is expecting, HollywoodLies (as it’s nicknamed) is quoting a so-called “source” as saying, “Chris is furious over the latest Rihanna pregnancy rumors.” In a telltale sign that these quotes were manufactured, the supposed snitch goes on to repeat Brown and Rihanna’s names in the following sentences. Real people don’t speak that way.

As for what this alleged tipster specifically contends, the gist is that Brown “gets really bothered and totally freaks out” when rumors about Rihanna being pregnant surface because “he always wanted to be the one to have a family with her.” The website’s seemingly fictional insider even asserts that Brown has maintained hope that “things might workout [sic] between them,” and he’d be “heartbroken” if the “rumors” about a pregnancy “turn out to be true.”

The outlet pretty much featured the same exact claims in its previous article on this topic, with the “source” then describing Brown as “heartbroken” because he “always hoped it would be him having a family with Rihanna.” One might think the similarities between the contentions then and now lend credibility to the online publication’s “exclusives.” In actuality, this transparently shows that HollywoodLies essentially just copied its old post, which is suspiciously not mentioned in this new piece, and is trying to make it seem like it has a new scoop. Of course, it wasn’t even a real scoop back then to begin with.

Oftentimes when Rihanna or Brown are in the news, the site claims to know how the other person is reacting to the subject. Significantly, no other outlets corroborate these assertions. For example, back in January, no respected publication confirmed that, yes, Brown was “hurt” over the rumors Rihanna was pregnant. It’s quite telling that its pieces aren’t substantiated and its supposed “sources” are untraceable.

And while it stands to reason Brown could have an opinion on Rihanna being pregnant, given that he apparently still thinks about her enough to do an Instagram post celebrating her birthday last month, there is no indication that anyone genuinely connected to him is actually sharing his feelings with HollywoodLies. What’s also peculiar here is that the website took the time to concoct this reaction story without bothering to even find out whether or not Rihanna really is pregnant. Doesn’t that seem more important to investigate than how Brown feels about the rumors?

Also, nowhere does the blog acknowledge that it’s been wrong in the past about Rihanna expecting, even peddling untrue claims about Brown possibly being the father of her (nonexistent) child. Just look at the screengrabs below. Is this an outlet that should be trusted to deliver authentic and correct information? The obvious answer is no. In comparison, Gossip Cop has reliably separated fact from fiction on both stars over the years. And now we’re told that this new story definitely falls under the latter category.
