Ariana Grande, Common, Miley to Perform at March for Our Lives Rally in D.C.

Ariana Grande, Common, and Miley Cyrus are among the artists performing tomorrow at the March for Our Lives rally in Washington D.C. Jennifer Hudson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Vic Mensa, Ben Platt, Andra Day, and Demi Lovato will also make appearances.

The March for Our Lives rally was organized by the survivors of the recent mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in order to “demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today.” Over 800 sister marches around the world are set to take place alongside the main D.C. rally.

Earlier this week, Lin-Manuel Miranda and and Dear Evan Hansen star Ben Platt teamed up to release their benefit single “Found Tonight.” The mashup of “The Story of Tonight” (Hamilton) and “You Will Be Found” (Dear Evan Hansen) repurposes lyrics to fit the March for Our Lives mission statement. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the March for Our Lives Action Fund.

Common recently gave a shoutout to the Parkland survivors during his Oscars performance of “Stand Up for Something” with Andra Day.

“Tell the NRA, they’re in God’s way/And to the people of Parkland, we say ‘Ase,’” he rapped in a freestyle. Last summer, Ariana Grande hosted her “One Love Manchester” benefit concert for the victims and families affected by the suicide bombing at her Manchester Arena show that took place in May 2017.
